
Ines Negrete
Founder of CasaLuz
Inés Negrette founded CasaLuz to address the need for advocacy and support services for Memphis’ growing Hispanic community for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and related crimes. She has worked with immigrant victims of domestic violence and sexual assault since 2008. Trained as a lawyer in Venezuela, Negrette has worked closely with victims, offenders, law enforcement, government, nonprofit agencies, and private law firms. She uses a trauma-informed approach to work with victims from a wide array of cultural backgrounds. Negrette has been working closely with the Memphis and Collierville Police Departments and in building a bridge of trust, opening lines of communications with the hispanic community. Negrette worked with Deputy Memphis Police Director Ryall to record officer training videos about assisting immigrant crime victims.
